It’s Christmas! 🎄🎁

The countdown for Christmas has never been so intense! And not because of the large amounts of food and expensive gifts, but the greatest, priceless gift you could ever imagine… family time!

After nearly 5 months, (the longest time I’ve spent away from my family) I was SO ready to see all of my favorite people for the most wonderful time of the year. December 22nd had finally come, a date that had been heavily decorated on my wall calendar with FAMILY ARRIVE TODAY!!!

To cut a long story short, we had booked a villa in Ocho Rio’s, (approx. 1hr 40mins away from Kingston). Situated in Old Fort Bay, a beautiful private beach sits a mere 3-minute walk away. Within a secure gated community full of stunning villa’s, Silver Palms offers a private pool area, jacuzzi and the perfect spot for families to enjoy Jamaica.

Wanting to make the most of our very precious two weeks ahead our first planned outing, (besides being on the beach with a sorrel in hand,) was to visit Uncle Desmond’s stunning home and farm in Linstead, Bog Walk. So on Christmas Eve us and about 20 other guests set out for our first ever annual Christmas Lunch at the Lawson residence. Safe to say we’ve already confirmed for next year! An afternoon filled with the most stunning views you could ever imagine, fresh mountain air on a beautiful plot of land with enough home grown fruit and veg to feed a village. Based in Linstead, also known as ‘Orange County’ for it’s abundant, sweet oranges that supply the fresh TruJuice, we felt truly lucky for such wonderful company and food.

If you’re reading this while hungry look away now, the extensive menu is nothing short of mouth-watering!

Sipping on sorrel and tucking into a range of dishes from, salted, smoked ham and chicken, stew chicken, roasted sweet potato, mixed salad, breadfruit salad, rice and gungo peas, fish in breadcrumbs with a sweet coconut sauce, pasta bake, roasted lamb, steamed vegetables, and not to mention, Christmas cake, chocolate cake and a New York cheesecake for dessert. After a semester of student dinners, my pallet was in awe of the array of flavours and different dishes.

A Christmas Eve to remember, please check back soon to check out some of the cool things we got up to over the festive period. You will not be disappointed.

Don’t forget to check out some of the snaps taken of me and my family!

Peace, Love and Guidance always
